Light House

Kommetjie Light House. Shot with 5D Mkii, 17-40mm Canon L series, Polarised Filter.

September 2011. This was taken for a project while I was studying at the Cape Town School of photography.

I had to take a risk by climbing over some very slippery rocks during low tide in order to get the lighting I wanted while keeping the clouds and Light house in the thirds. While scouting around on the rocks I noticed the reflection in the water. It took me some time to balance the composition, the reflection and polarised water in order to get the rocks appearing below the water surface.
